About the adoption letter, you're right about the getting a lawyer. What gets me is why would the writer's sister call and say that instead of the niece. If that was going to happened then the adoption papers should've not been signed in the first place. By default, the baby belongs to the writer and her husband, because the niece signed the papers. Plus, it would be kinda selfish to start a custody battle just because of a phone call and a misunderstanding
