Waking Up with Joe
by Peter McKay
Like all my brothers and sisters, I started drinking coffee at the age of 12. Growing up, my main chore before going to bed was to get the coffee ready for the morning. With a family of nine kids, we had one of those huge metal canister coffee machines, the type that makes 25 cups at a time and are usually found at church gatherings or in trailer offices at construction sites. Peter,
I have a suggestion to the Java God!
I've often thought about moving the coffee pot to the bedside end table, and I even thought about taking it one step further. Pre load the pot with sugar and creamer, that way its already pre-mixed when it brews. No mixing, no spoons required, just pour it into the favorite mug, and go.
Lazy, I think not. Ingenious, time management skills at max. Yuppers!

This is so funny and so true. I too have a thing for my coffee, (Gevalia, flavored, half decaf, half regular, soymilk, stevia, cinnamon, by the quart. Sometimes with grated chocolate from Costa Rica.) You might have thickening of the blood, very common in type A blood people, and coffee also detoxifies the liver. It gets that thick blood moving. Hello! I was taking caffeine pills when I thought coffee was too acidic for me. That is when I switched brands. (I am not affiliated with Gevalia. I do love the free coffee pots though, when they break. )
You know we thought about putting a bar in the bedroom that was for coffee. You should think about that if you have room. The smell of the coffee in the morning would be heavenly to wake up to. Mix your leftover coffee with tea, That taste really good too,
