Meet the Gaffable Barack Obama

by R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr.

WASHINGTON — As I noted several weeks back, some very bizarre happenings began to haunt the Obama campaign in April. The candidate — taking his breakfast in a Scranton, Pa., eatery — was asked by a reporter for his reaction to a meeting former President Jimmy Carter had just concluded with a thug from Hamas. Clearly annoyed, Sen. Barack Obama refused to answer the question. In a word, he waffled. Worse, he actually was eating a waffle — a Belgian ...

Gaffable? Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! While I am a Democrat; a Yellow-dog of a democrat, I am, and as such, I've yet to find a reason to vote for the likes of Barak Obama. I did serve in the Military. I am grateful for my non-combat pension for my service in Nam even though I am aware that I helped to decrease the innocent population of that country (40K, plus,) with napalm. Fact is I didn't vote for Mr. Cary strickly because he did vote for Mr. Bush's War; let's face it, John ws a Vet who knew Vietnam was insanity. I should be pro-Obama, right? NOT. I once traveled on an Aircraft Carrier. I know it takes a long time to change directions on such a State Ship, so while Mr. Obama did vote agaist the War... ...Hum? I sound like a Hypocrte? NOT. I'm very proud of Mr. Obama's vote against the war. I'd be proud to have him to dinner... ...if he wasn't married,, to father me a grand-daughter; but, I have yet to hear anything of substance coming from his lips. A Ship of State is no different from a State Ship. The problem with America is not the war, the price of gas, but the fact that Amerians are all too eager to believe, we need to change as a people. I do subscribe to the hair-brained notion that Corporate America has done more damage to this country than any league of Terrorist. It's not only the economy, but the notion that Amercan can survive as a consumer nation in debt to China. I am not fond of Saviors, especially Capitalist Saviors of limited experience. I don't think it matters if Hillary or Barak win the nomination. I'll probably be the Yellow Dog sitting on the front porch come election day, rubbing two pennies to-gather and tryiong to make a dollar out of Non-sense. I might have voted for Ms. Hillary: She seems brighter than her Husband and she does seem interested in working within the system - - We the People, created. NO. I can't vote for my fellow Vet; Mr. McCain seem to know less about the economy than my pet sparrow named China, as I wait to hear Obama say what Mr. Kennedy said... ...but this time to Corporate America... ...Ask now what your Country can do for you... ...Yad'da... ...Yad'da... ...Ya'dah." Excuse me while I scratch at a Yellow Dog flea, that mite be causing the loss of hair on my Yellow Dog coat. Bye the Bye. Barak may have waffled, but at least he didn't fabricate for effect. Peace One.
