Palin Wins Big With a Reagan-Like Flair

by Dick Morris

Last night was a big, big win for Sarah Palin.

She showed originality, charisma and sass — a style that is refreshing and different in our politics. She didn't just win the vice-presidential debate, she showed that she belongs with Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton as among the best communicators of our modern political times.

Her sallies against big government were brilliantly conceived and well executed. Her line that she didn't understand how Washington worked because poli ...

Sir; Yes. Sass... How many times the vote in Alaska has elected Mr. Biden on how many occasions? Yet this queen of Alaska, a fish wife representing a fraction of the people asks: Can I call you Joe! It was a set up. We accept informality in this country. It is Mr. President. It is Senator. How can you disrespect a man in the process of asking the consent of the people to be ruled? Sure, accept informality, and ask for it if you need it; but don't ask for informality to zing some body. If you want to burn some one, burn them. If you want to abuse them, abuse them. Don't ask for informality when that is a sign of friendship so you can hurt them. Every one should remember that there are rules to the game. There is a form we  are all relating in called called citizenship. It would not offend me much if republicans disrespected the form of government if  they did not disrespect all of the citizens at the same time. A lot of people voted for Mr. Bush. A lot of people voted for Mr. Biden. Each of those people deserves their respect even if they voted badly. The respect of citizen for citizen is an essential quality for our society. And when you beat the people's man you beat the citizen, so you should show respect, and attack only obvious faults. Informality  is not a fault of government, or of officials. Informality should be desired and not abused. So just call him Joe, though he has the right to ask for respect, but don't abuse every Joe voting for him to score a cheap shot. If you think sass is any kind of job qualification, I think you don't know the job.But I will be happy to talk back about it.

Dick, may I call you Dick? Possibly the "fish wife" charmed you because the man who is running for President alarmed you? Glad you noticed the "sass", just what a macho guy wants to see in the second highest office in the country, a gal with "sass". That men are from Mars stuff is true. Most women see through the "sass" for what it is. I'd tell you, but you wouldn't believe me. Ask some of your female associates or close friends. Sass from a woman is like cussing from a man. It's designed to divert attention. You're so charmed by the sass or so repelled b the cussing, you lose focus. So hey, if you want to be charmed for 4 years, give her your vote. Re: Sweeney, love that term: "fish wife". Great post, again.
