Here's a news flash you don't need me to tell you about: Airline passengers are getting less and less happy about their experiences with the nation's airlines. Surprised?

Actually, there were two new studies out this week about life in the skies and on your way to them, and they had to be about as cheerful for the airlines as the record-high fuel costs they're facing.

The first, from the University of Michigan, is its annual survey of passenger satisfaction, ranking the airlines ...

Dear Mrs. Estrich Thank you or today's column about airline travel. Your observations match mine. Today I look longingly back at the 60s and the air travel we experienced then. Men in ties and jackets. Stewardesses who brought drinks and dinner with a smile.. Thanks also for your column a week or so earlier -- the one about the aches and pains. I also related to that one. It ocurrs to me that the airline delays and cacellations we are witnessing are symptomatic of a weakening of infrastructure; as if Atlas is beginning to shrug. Peregrinus
