Success Equals Silence

by Oliver North

AUSTIN, Texas — Our Fox News' "War Stories" team came here to the capital of the Lone Star State to work on a documentary about America's 36th president to coincide with the 100th anniversary of his birth Aug. 27. Full disclosure here, Lyndon Baines Johnson was the commander in chief who sent one of my brothers and me to war in Vietnam.

Let me tell you why I'm not celebrating this so called "success". Terrorists invaded my country, killed and destroyed thousands of lives then and in the aftermath; destroyed and damaged planes and buildings. The masterminds are still roaming free and in fact, thriving. In retaliation, my President, who had planned to invade Iraq long before these tragic events, used this tragedy, not to bring the terrorists to justice, but to launch his own terrorist attack on Iraq. How could I possibly celebrate when my President, his family, and his henchmen are in bed with the Osama Bin Laden family? Never! You need to get over all the poor decisions and failures of past wars and honor the dead by not supporting an administration that created the circumstances that the only thing we have to celebrate, again by countless loss of lives, is that some war zone (we created) now is self-ruling. In the meantime, my country is in the midst of a crisis at home. Taxpayers and families who have paid for this monster in Iraq with their childrens lives and their dollars, now see this monster will be affecting their lives for years to come because this same President will be leaving office after plundering this country's financial resources to the degree and magnitude the next two presidential terms will be hardpressed to bring us close to where we were when he first took office. I am ashamed and embarassed that this great country was taken down not by terrorists, but by the sitting President of the United States and his henchmen.
