PORTRAITS FOR PRINT founder, Julia Suits, is a gifted illustrator and life-long artist in a variety of forms, including sculpture and painting as well as her trademark pencil drawings.  Considering her talent for work in many kinds of media, it's only  appropriate that her current efforts are an intermingling of portrait artistry, illustration and caricature.

Encouraged from an early age by her parents, both of whom are professional painters, Julia pursued her interest in the arts and applied her natural talents to earn both bachelor's and master's degrees in painting and sculpture.

Her first professional venture was a five-year assignment as a medical illustrator.  Within the last two years, however, she has turned her attention to a "livelier" subject matter: editorial portraits.  Through PORTRAITS FOR PRINT, she has created a series of intriguing, astute caricatures of the most famous news figures of the day.  Julia self-syndicated PORTRAITS FOR PRINT in January 1988 and currently boasts a number of nationally prominent newpapers as subscribers, including the Los Angeles Times, the Houston Chronicle, the Sacramento Bee and the Seattle Post Intelligencer.

As prolific as she is talented, Julia Suits has created more than 500 illustrations since PORTRAITS FOR PRINT was established, and her portfolio continues to grow.  In addition to two featured news figures -- who range anywhere from George Bush to Jerry Falwell -- she is currently adding a third portrait of a celebrity or well-known personality to her weekly syndication offering.
