3. The Carter Family and Mother Maybelle was the first group voted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. This group included Mother Maybelle, Sara and A.P.

4. Alexandria, Va., was the longest-occupied territory.

5. Six vice presidents were voted into the U.S. Senate after leaving the vice presidential position. They are John Calhoun, John Breckinridge, Hannibal Hamlin, Andrew Johnson, who had served as president after Abraham Lincoln's assassination, Alben Barkley and Hubert Humphrey.

6. The ambassador was Shirley Temple Black, the famed little dancing girl in movies.

7. The port was Georgetown.

8. It was James Madison, our fourth president, whose wife, Dolley, attended his inauguration. Charleston, S.C., Answer Man-er Frank Thompson, (Lt. Col. USAF-ret.) sent us this question.
