Linda Rosenkrantz has long been active in the collectibles field. She worked in the editorial and public relations departments of Sotheby's auction house in New York for 13 years, then served as founding editor of AUCTION magazine for five years.
She has been writing the Contemporary Collectibles column, which covers a broad spectrum of categories from classic to kitsch, for Copley since 1986, and has co-authored two books on the subject: "Sotheby's Guide to Animation Art" and "Auction Antiques Annual." In addition, she has written about various aspects of collecting for many publications, including American Heritage, House & Gardens, Modern Maturity and Woman's Day.
Rosenkrantz is also known as an expert on the subject of baby names, having written a series of best-selling guides, including "Beyond Jennifer & Jason: The Last Word on First Names," "Baby Names Now," "The Baby Name Bible" and "Cool Names for Babies."
Other books she has authored include "Gone Hollywood: A Social History of Hollywood in the Golden Age" and the childhood memoir, "My Life as a List: 207 Things About my Bronx Childhood."
A New York native, she currently resides in Los Angeles.
