Leave the heat outside and bring it indoors instead — on your walls, that is.
Linda Barker, of the UK’s ’Changing Rooms’?? television show, has introduced a new collection for Graham & Brown that makes wallpaper hot again.
’As more and more people discover the potential of wallpaper, I have looked at experimenting with more dynamic shapes, colors and images that are more current with trends today,’ said Barker. ’I have worked with the design team at Graham & Brown to create a strong, graphic design that gives the wallpaper a fresh modern element that is on-trend for how we want our homes to look today.’
Her new collection features six designs available in six color ways — hues ranging from soft neutrals to vibrant reds.
’We are very pleased to be introducing this sophisticated new collection to the American market,’ said David Klaus, Graham & Brown’s senior marketing manager. ’The patterns, inspired by Oriental designs, are infused with Linda’s feminine style. They are elegant on their own while also inspiring beautiful combinations.’
Included in the collection are:
’Tempting’ — Really big chrysanthemums bloom on this complimentary ground.
’Adorable’— This delicate trailing leaf pattern is lovely on its own or paired with ’Tempting.’
’Serenity’ — These spiral motifs just make you want to meditate and try to figure out if they are snowflakes, stars or CDs.
’Flourish’ — Always elegant is the lily, especially in plum and raspberry, in this Oriental-inspired take.
’Tranquil’ — Birds and butterflies float about this delicate floral pattern.
’Grasscloth’ — These textured solids come in colors to complement every design in this collection.
And if you’re not so handy at hanging wallpaper, relax.
The Linda Barker collection uses Graham & Brown’s ’Paste the Wall’?? technology.
The paper retails for $60 per roll, which covers 56 square feet.

THE ROSE
Roses make the perfect accent to any home. And who wouldn’t want to enjoy them all year without the withering?
Schonbek lighting designs now offers you a pick of 32 crystal varieties.
With copious color palettes and frame finishes these designs echo nature’s own beauty.
’The Rose will enchant romantics who favor faded furnishings and gauzy drapery,’ said Andrew Schonbek, president and CEO. ’If you lack an attic full of heirlooms from forgotten ancestors, The Rose will make it up to you.’
Styles run from the crystal chandelier, table lamp, floor lamp, wall sconce to electrified candelabrum lamp.
Giving a feeling of the past, there are tiny, faceted jewelry beads mixed among green crystal leaves and raindrops.
Schonbek’s offering of The Rose in multiple forms lets you carry through the theme from room-to-room. Maybe start with a two-tiered chandelier in the foyer with sconces placed strategically throughout the house and The Rose pendant in tiny bathrooms.
