Horoscopes by Holiday for June 23

If you like Holiday Mathis, you might enjoy

The moon moves from idealist Aquarius into spiritual Pisces. Like a hippie mama who decides to stop talking about social injustices and start "being the change," this transition is felt as our guiding thoughts and ideals simply mellow out. As it goes, performing our activities consciously just might be the most radical move of all.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). The mood swings of those around you will test your patience and also remind you not to prop up your own happiness against the good opinion of others. Take three actions to strengthen your own emotional autonomy.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Do you even remember what it was like to be unencumbered by appointments? That's the luxury you really crave now. And the beautiful part is, it doesn't cost a dime. All you have to do is say "no."

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Love requires no strategy. However, it's doing what isn't required that puts you in touch with your passion. It's exciting for you and thrilling for others when you put some thought into your next move.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). There's something you know that you should now teach to your loved ones. By imparting your knowledge you are inviting loved ones to avoid future pitfalls and create future successes.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You're like a wild stallion that some tough cowboy is trying to break. You can buck your oppressor off of you and continue in your maverick ways, or you can submit to a future of having someone on your back.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (JUNE 23). You're able to accomplish what few ever have — peace within your family. OK, so it won't last forever, but there are many beautiful scenarios this year when you enjoy and appreciate loved ones without an ounce of drama. September brings a spike in your income. Wedding bells ring in May. You speak the same language as Pisces and Aries. Your lucky numbers are: 20, 11, 40, 27 and 13.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You can travel to the ends of the earth, or you can go to your local library and the results will be the same — you'll gain the new perspective you've been needing. Tip: The library route is faster and more affordable.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The inefficiencies of your plan are illuminated. This is terrific news because now you see how to trim the fat. There's tremendous luck for scholarships, grants and other financial awards based on merit.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Figure out in concrete terms exactly what you must do in order to be satisfied with yourself.
Chances are, you're already doing more than you expect of yourself, but you're not giving yourself the credit.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). There's an art in knowing when to get off the proverbial bus. You trade a futile pursuit for a fruitful one. Suddenly your efforts create more than sweat and frustration — you're gaining headway.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You're not wrong to consider yourself somewhat of an underdog — all the winners fall into this category. Examine your deficits to see how they are also strengths. Each deficit, properly used, gives you an edge.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You're pretty sure that the thing you have planned is doable, but you can't really know until it is done. So you dive in, willing to partner with uncertainty. Your act of faith will be moving to those looking on.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You'll do your best when you're coming from a place of stability. A warm meal and a tidy place to nestle in cannot be underestimated. Give yourself those creature comforts you crave.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I am a hopelessly romantic Aquarius. In 2007, I met a charming Cancer. Everything was going wonderfully, but then suddenly went downhill. Is there anything in the stars about us and our future together?

The electric magnetism that belongs to you and your Aquarian brethren could light up a 4th of July picnic (and Cancer sooo loves picnics!) Cancer/Aquarius hookups share a mysteriously compelling connection — with the emphasis on mystery, from both sides. On Aquarius' behalf: oh, those incredible moods; his desire to be coddled; a secretive, self-protective streak — all can drive a more rational air sign girl like you to tears. Too often, a Cancer man's biggest enigma is himself. Unfortunately, I do feel that one thing certain about this Cancer man is that he goes through phases of love. And when he's not showing up, it's because he's entered a completely new phase, just like the moon. Sure, it's frustrating, but you can't question it. When your Cancer returns to you, if he does showing signs of nostalgia, regret or sadness, those are signs he's clinging when he should be moving on. If his heart's not in it, you'll know it. And that's your answer.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Former model Petra Nemcova puts good works into the world with her charity and embodies the big heart of the crab beautifully. She shares her lineage with other compassionate Cancerians: Princess Diana, and the Dalai Lama. The rare tenacity this sign possesses might be overlooked for its more well-known sensitivity. However, hardships show the crab is as tough as she is sensitive.
