Overnight, the moon slipped into the Taurus comfort zone. Like waking up to a beautiful breakfast in bed, with birds happily chirping at our window, when we follow our instinct to take it easy, we're right with the world again. Yes! Good food, good company and pleasures of the senses figure into this weekend's nesting activities.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). For your life to run smoothly, chances are you'll have to mobilize a small group of supporters. Plans that sound overly complicated won't be followed. Keep it simple. Less talk is better.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You're intellectually ambitious. This hunger to learn will continue to be strong for weeks to come. Consider taking a class or joining a group. Higher learning connects you with other sharp-minded people.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The words of influential women echo through your personal life. Whatever your mom said to do, you're now inclined to do the opposite, just to see what will happen.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). As those around you take their moment in the spotlight, resist the impulse to chime in. Your attitude of respect speaks better for you than any story you're tempted to tell.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). What occurs is a result of a thoughtful intention. Structure and discipline are the secret ingredients. What looks effortless is much more involved than appearance suggest.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (JUNE 28). Lifestyle upgrades happen as if by luck over the next six weeks. However, this is no coincidence — it's something you've attracted with a year of collected thoughts. August brings financial rewards. Knowing when to act and when to wait, you skillfully navigate a high-stakes game. November getaways ignite romance. Aquarius and Pisces adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 10, 33, 4, 17 and 12.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Though you continue to turn in the hard work, you still may not consciously realize what you have to offer the world. Being open to the possibilities is the best way to find out. The majestic truth is unfolding.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). What was once difficult for you is no longer so — a testament to your growth. It may still take a while for your head to catch up to the rest of you, though. You'll be breaking habits and thought patterns.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). With another water sign (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces), you operate as elegantly as strands of seaweed dancing to underwater currents. It requires that you keep a respectful distance so you don't get all tangled up together.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Let new people into your private club. Recognize who wants to get in and consider it. Tightly knit love relationships are not dissipated, but are intensified by outside influences.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Keeping out of controversy isn't easy, but, boy, is it smart. Your valiant effort to be calm and sensible while those around you fly off the handle at each other will allow you to remain neutral.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). There is astounding power in softness and vulnerability. It's the most powerful attitude to take. Tonight features a conversation about your willingness to make a commitment.
ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "I want to get married next June. Is there astrology behind why June is such a popular month to get married?"
Yes. June is named after the Roman goddess Juno, who was one of only two goddesses in Olympus to ever get married (the other, Aphrodite, was married off by Zeus against her will, to homely craftsman Hephaestus. Needless to say, "marriage vows" were just words to glamorous Aphrodite). Juno was Zeus/Jupiter's wife, and although he wasn't faithful, she was. Olympians noticed — for in Olympus, monogamy was as rare as snow in the tropics. Juno was honored as the model wife and bride, and soon found herself leading a cult (a modern day women's club) holding rituals for Aphrodite maidens transforming into beautiful, mature Juno brides — yes, bachelorette parties! Thus, Juno presides over all marriage ceremonies, and those in June are especially significant to the goddess. One more tidbit: In Rome, as every man had his indwelling reproductive power — his genius — every woman had her Juno, literally meaning "conceiving power," so Juno also protects motherhood and childbirth, along with commitment and fidelity in marriage.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: When he was a child, Tobey Maguire once wanted to become a chef. It's not that unusual for Cancer, or lunar folks, to have a strong connection to food — they enjoy it so much! Alas, with his Mars in action-hero Aries, piled up with big Jupiter, Tobey was far better suited for a Spidey flick than "Top Chef." Still, I'm sure he could cook up a mean meal, as long as it's animal-free (he's a vegan).
