The sun, setting behind the horizon, is Libra's astrological signature and the scales are Libra's astrological symbol. Both symbols converge on ancient Egypt's version of "light as a feather," a pre-afterlife slumber party game. At death, the human heart — once said to be the seat of emotion, thought, will and intention — would be measured on a scale against the weight of a feather to determine each soul's entry into the afterlife (the alternative was being eaten by a lion, yikes).
