Horoscopes by Holiday for November 16

If you like Holiday Mathis, you might enjoy

Mars bursts into Sagittarius expecting a parade and fireworks and he's not disappointed. There's a heightened sense of scenery. The world is rich in spectacle, each more vivid and inviting than the last. Breaking out of the comfort zone in the name of adventure is a favorite pastime during this transit, which will last until Dec. 26.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Concentrate your energy on what you enjoy, which also happens to be what you're good at. Being able to use your talents makes you a happy person indeed, spurred on by positive and creative moments.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You're holding on to old baggage out of habit. Let go. There's nothing to be gained by recalling the past in a negative light. Choose thoughts that affirm you, and you become powerful.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your network expands. And though you're feeling just as chatty as usual, do recognize the benefit to keeping your message brief and to the point. You'll effectively communicate in a short amount of time with many people.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Inside you is a cranky child ready to throw a tantrum if his or her demands are not quickly met. This is your ego, and it's wise to temporarily ignore its rants, empowering higher states of mind.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). People come from out of the woodwork to bounce ideas off of you. You're the perfect sounding board, objective and creative. You see factors that others may not see and point them out in the nicest way.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (NOVEMBER 16). You are a progressive thinker with the ability to change people's perceptions. You shine before difficult critics this month. Your outrageous ideas are actionable in December. January, friends and new hobbies inspire a creative awakening in you. There will be non-traditional moneymaking opportunities in February. Leo and Gemini adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 50, 47, 24 and 10.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Take charge of your ego and keep it in check. A fear that you'll lose face may be the only thing holding you back. Once you realize the benefit to rolling with the changes, you'll no longer resist them.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You're open to letting people help you as long as they seem qualified. And though nobody can do it like you, all that's required is a small degree of effort to find a talented supporter you can trust.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). It may not be your first instinct, but consider the advantages of acting in a conservative manner.
Test the waters with a mild gesture. Go gingerly so that you may observe all of the nuances that affect a situation.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You are thoughtful. You inspire trust because of the way you handle a sensitive person. You win fans, though you will not know who they are until they reveal themselves several weeks from now.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You've created quite an impressive social network, and now it's time to put it to good use. You're a strand in an intricate web. Together with your connections you'll land all that is needed.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You take the reigns and lead the group. People who interfere with your progress do so because they are fearful of the unknown. All they need is reassurance to quell their apprehension.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Consider what you need to upgrade, improve or perfect and then start reading about it. You absorb expert advice, especially in written form, and are able to apply it quickly.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: It's the centaur's turn to have some fun this week as Mars breaks into Sagittarius and is followed by the sun on Friday. The spirit of generosity and adventure asks us to explore, and it's no casual invitation. It's as though we are being pushed to enlarge our vision of the world. When planets transition into Sagittarius, they don't tiptoe. The Sagittarian energy is all or nothing. Things happen quickly. Consequences are immediate. This is the realm of travel, philosophy and daring physical feats. It's the time to try things, from ice fishing to flamenco dancing to kimchi, for no other reason except that you never have before. You could be enticed to strike up a conversation with a mysterious stranger or visit an area of town so different from your own digs that it may as well be another world. People from exotic, faraway places are irresistible. The theme of the week is tolerance. It takes a certain level of sophistication to try to understand the beliefs of others without feeling that your own are threatened. The mind must expand for the idea that our own way of living is not the only way.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Daisy Fuentes has been a weathergirl, news anchorwoman, model, soap opera star, veejay, clothing designer, professional poker player and the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos." Whatever new twist her career takes, she always does it with classic Scorpio sassiness. She's caliente all the way with her sun, Mercury, Venus and Neptune all in sexy Scorpio.
