Vel-come, Ha, Ha, Ha: Romania welcomes tourists to Dracula's Castle. Well, it's actually called Bran Castle and strictly speaking, the "real" Dracula, Vlad Tepes, never actually lived there, although some say he was locked in the dungeon for two days once. That being said, it was a royal castle in the 1920s. After communism, a New York architect from the Habsburg family reclaimed the castle and nearly sold it, but changed his mind when Romania tried to renationalize it.

Happy Juneteenth: On this date in 1865, Union General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston to bring Texas back into the United States. As the story goes, he stood in a balcony of Ashton Villa and read the order enforcing the emancipation of its slaves.

Today, the holiday is mostly celebrated in Texas, but people in other states are celebrating, too. Incidentally, the actual Emancipation Proclamation had been issued on Sept. 22, 1862.
